Mozambique is already admitted to the Kimberley Process of diamond sales

Mozambique received this afternoon the admission to the Kimberley process of diamond sales. As of today it is the new member of diamond trading.

This is an admission achieved after the 2016 lead and several years of work. According to the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Max Tonela, who is at this meeting in Russia, "the admission will enable a number of projects that were stalled."

Mozambique can now reap the rewards of the wealth it has in diamonds scattered throughout the various regions of the country.

According to studies carried out in the 90's, there are several areas in the country with occurrence of diamonds, namely Gaza, Manica, Sofala, Tete and Niassa.
