Mozambique and Equatorial Guinea intend to boost trade between the two countries. This may be the first step in implementing the understandings reached between Maputo and Malabo, following the three-day official visit that the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, made this week to Equatorial Guinea.l.

Filipe Nyusi who, this Saturday, returned to the country, made it known that the business community of Equatorial Guinea is interested in investing in Mozambique.

"One phase that can be quickly started is trade and in this regard it is about facilitating the private sector and the business sector. As a first step, these visas will be extended and this is where the two ministries of Commerce and Industry will work to prepare the business forum where the two countries should interact. There is a lot of interest from investors from Equatorial Guinea to be able to be in our country because they also know little," he said.

Equatorial Guinea has also shown interest in exploring Mozambique's experience in promoting gender equality in government and parliament.
