The Africa Energy Market Place (AEMP) 2021, recently organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), sought to learn about strategic projects and key reforms in the energy sector on the continent. At the event, Mozambique showed that among its priorities in the energy sector is the development of renewable energies.
Representing Mozambique, the President of the Board of Directors of the Energy Fund - FUNAE, António Saíde, referred to the first and recently launched call for applications for mini-green initiatives, under the "Brilho" program.

Five countries participated in the event, namely Mozambique, Tunisia, Cameroon, Guinea and Kenya. In addition to these, renowned institutions interested in investing in renewable energy took part: Power Africa, the European Investment Bank, Africa50, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the European Union, the World Bank, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom, the Agence Francaise de Développement of Germany, the development agency GIZ, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Infrastructure Development Association of Africa (AfIDA), the Islamic Investment Bank and IRENA.
