Mozambican forward Chanaya Pinto is the only African on the list of high school and college players who have formally applied to be included as candidates for the 2024 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm®, scheduled for today, April 15 at the famous Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York.

According to the "Lance MZ"The Mozambican player's name is on a long list that includes many of the NCAA's biggest women's basketball stars, such as Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Cameron Brink, who have declared themselves in favor of the WNBA Draft.

The young player, who last season represented Penn State University, is looking to follow in the footsteps of Clarisse Machanguana, who was the only Mozambican to progress in the WNBA, the biggest and best women's league in the world.
