The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala, assured this Thursday that the construction of a jetty in the KaNyaka district will start and finish next year.
Magala said that the final phase of the project to start building the quay bridge on that island in Maputo Bay was now underway.
"The first three stages have already been fully completed and the design of the bridge should be delivered in the first half of January," he said.
Subsequently, according to the transport minister, the contracting phase for the contractor to build the bridge will follow.
"At this rate of implementation of the KaNyaka jetty construction project, we are confident that with our determination we will be able to complete the physical construction of this infrastructure next year"
Magala gave this information as part of the inauguration of the first digital square on the island. On the occasion, the Mayor of Maputo, Eneas Comiche, called for good use of the infrastructure now inaugurated, valued at two million meticais.
"We ask that teachers guide their students to surf responsibly, instructing them in the dangers of the internet," he warned.
