The independent presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, today called for seven more days of demonstrations against the results of the October 9 elections.
According to Mondlane, this fourth stage of the protests will begin next Wednesday, December 4, and should last until next Wednesday, December 11.
The demonstrations have been called to take place between 8 am and 3:30 pm. Like last week, the candidate is calling for the National Anthem and the African Anthem to be sung. In the evening, between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., whistles and vuvuzelas should be blown.
He calls for a general stoppage of all motorized vehicles. "Everything at a standstill, with placards. People on foot should stick the posters to their clothes."
The candidate advises the suspension of all flights to and from Mozambique; the closure of REVIMO tolls "people should pass through without paying"; the closure of all Frelimo party headquarters, all the headquarters of the National Electoral Commission (CNE) and the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE); and the cancellation of all cultural events, especially those to close the year.
