Magala says that LAM is already sustainable, but asks for patience for the company to become robust again

Magala diz que LAM já é sustentável, mas pede paciência para que a companhia volte a ser robusta

The Minister of Transport and Communications says that South African consultant Fly Modern Ark has fulfilled its mandate, which was to restore the sustainability of Mozambique Airlines (LAM) and make it more competitive in the market. Even so, he asks for patience so that the flag carrier can become robust again.

According to Mateus Magala, who was speaking this Friday (29) on the sidelines of the launch of the "Internet For All" project, he stressed that Fly Modern Ark, which has been at the helm of the Mozambican airline for more than a year, with the mission of revitalizing and making the flag carrier more competitive in the market, has successfully fulfilled its mission.

"The company was insolvent. That means it was going to close its doors. And in less than a month they showed that no, it wasn't insolvent. That's a lot. That's millions of dollars. Millions of dollars in one month. So if we can't appreciate that as a positive step, I think we're unreasonable," added the government official, quoted by the newspaper "The Country".

In addition, Mateus Magala argued that more time was needed for the results to be more visible, highlighting the new routes introduced by the South African consultancy.
