Lucros da ExxonMobil mais do que duplicam em 2022 para 51,4 mil milhões

ExxonMobil, the largest US oil company, recorded profits of 55,740 million dollars, an increase of 142% compared to 2021, in a financial year marked by a recovery in demand and limited supply, it was announced today..

The multinational, headquartered in Irving, Texas, recorded a profit of 13.26 dollars per share last year, compared to 5.39 dollars per share the year before.

These results do not include the impairments of 3.4 billion dollars from the Sakhalin-1 project in Russia, where ExxonMobil's activity was affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In total, ExxonMobil, quoted by Lusa, earned 413,680 million dollars in 2022, up from 285,640 million dollars in 2021.

In the last quarter of last year, the oil company made a profit of 12,750 million dollars, 43.7% more than in the same period of the previous year, when it made a profit of 8,870 million dollars.

Turnover between October and November reached 93,164 million dollars, compared to 81,305 million in the same period last year.

The multinational's CEO, Darren Woods, stressed that although the results "clearly benefit from a favorable market", the counter-cyclical investments made before and during the covid-19 pandemic "provided energy and products needed by people when economies began to recover and supply became scarcer".
