BMW profits rise 74% to 13,232 million in first half

Lucros da BMW sobem 74% para 13.232 milhões no primeiro semestre

BMW, which has the BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands, posted first-half profits of 13,232 million euros, up 73.6% compared to the same period in 2021, the German automaker announced Wednesday.

In a statement, BMW reported that group turnover rose in the first six months of the year to €65,912 million (+19.11TP2Q), despite falling sales and the consolidation of the Chinese subsidiary BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA), which contributed €11,000 million to turnover.

Due to problems in supply chains, group sales fell to 1.16 million units (-13.41TP2Q), due to the decline of the BMW (-13.71TP2Q) and Mini (-10.91TP2Q) brands, while Rolls-Royce sales increased (+6.81TP2Q) and motorcycle sales were virtually flat (-0.11TP2Q).

BMW added that the semiconductor shortage remains and that new blockades in China have also created problems in supply chains, which hampered production and deliveries in the first half of the year.
