Clube Ferroviário de Maputo may see its women's handball team disqualified from the Championship of the sport in Maputo City because of an accumulation of debts.
According to Notícias, these are debts relating to registration and membership that have not been settled even after the deadlines had expired. The deadline for settling the debts set by the Maputo City Handball Association (AADNCM) expired on August 1. It was the third extension.
The debt crown also serves the Samson Muthemba and Mahotas clubs.
This trio of clubs owes a total of about 120,000 meticais, of which the largest amount falls on locomotives.
The Director of AADNCM believes that there is a lack of willingness on the part of these clubs to collaborate once the initial settlement deadline has been extended several times.
A meeting of the AADNCM was scheduled for this Thursday to decide the fate of these clubs.
