Liz Truss já foi indigitada como primeira-ministra do Reino Unido

British Liz Truss has already been named Prime Minister of the United Kingdom this Tuesday, after a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, who invited her to form the government after Boris Johnson's resignation led to early elections.

In a photograph made public, the monarch greeted Truss, who becomes today the 15th head of government to serve Elizabeth II, who at 96 years of age has reigned 70.

Minutes earlier, at 12:00, to comply with the British punctuality, the now former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, left Balmoral Castle, Scotland, where he was this morning to be received by the Queen. In a statement, Buckingham Palace notes that the politician "tendered his resignation as First Minister and First Lord Chancellor of the Exchequer," a decision that the monarch "was graciously pleased to accept.

Liz Struss is now on her way to London, where at the end of the day she is due to check into the British Prime Minister's official residence at 10 Downing Street. She is expected to make a speech at 4:00 pm, in which she is expected to announce the composition of her government.

Recall that the new Prime Minister was elected in July to the leadership of the Conservative Party with 57% of the vote.
