The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has suspended Mozambique Airlines (LAM) from the global organization that leads, represents and serves the entire airline sector.
According to a circular issued this Friday (18) by Emirates (EK), LAM has been suspended from the international airline organization for failure to pay its debts.
In the same press release, Emirates announced that it had decided to break its partnership with LAM, informing customers that from now on, the sale of its new tickets will not involve the flights of the Mozambican airline.
"Those who already bought tickets before October 16, 2024, and had flights with LAM, will be transferred to other companies (such as Airlink, Cemair or Ethiopian Airlines) at no extra cost. If there are no alternatives, a full or partial refund will be offered," he added in the note, stressing that LAM tickets will not be accepted on Emirates flights.
However, our attempts to communicate with LAM were unsuccessful.
