Young writers launch the second edition of a book that pays homage to the city of Beira

Jovens escritores lançam a segunda edição do livro que homenageia a cidade da Beira

"Mwathu Muno: Beira, our land" is the title of the anthology of chronicles and poems about the city of Beira, organized by Manuel Gimo and bringing together 23 writers from the city of Beira. In its second edition, under the seal of the Beira Book Club, it will be presented on Thursday, December 12, at Casa do Artista, at 6pm, in Beira. The presentation will be made by Maria Pinto De Sá, cultural manager.

As the title says, it is a work that praises the city of Beira and its people, their way of life, their culture, their history, their architecture and, of course, their imperfections. The first edition, in digital format, was launched on August 20, 2023, during the celebrations for the 116th anniversary of Beira's elevation to city status.

Writers include Ac Chiambiro The Poet, Alberto Zuze, Albino Chairo, Ali Ntombe, Castigo de Feitiça, Dominique Covelela, Gabriel Adolfo Mudoda, Gaspar A. T. Pagarache, Gerson A. S. Pagarache, Hélder Miguel Marques, Hermenegildo Pinto, João Paulo Gundo, Luh Damásio, Luís Gamboa, Mang Apa, Manuel Gimo, Marco Lole de Andrade, Nasir Oldara Jhons Fortuna, Nitoneto, O Culambissua, Ordem Mateus Uajeito, Samirupoeta and Velita da Bemvinda.

About the Beira Book Club

Clube do Livro da Beira is a literary organization with the aim of promoting and encouraging reading and writing habits. The association stands out for its Book Club meetings, in which it brings together young people in public places to read together and exchange impressions, thus broadening their individual reading horizons. The aim of these meetings is to make reading books a common practice, a habit, especially among young people.
