Isabel dos Santos will not receive any compensation for her stake in Efacec, under the terms of the Law that governs nationalizations, since it is in negative territory.
The news is advanced by Jornal de Negócios, which clarifies that "no compensation will be due, since the evaluations concluded that the participation that the State was left in Efacec had, at the time of nationalization, a negative value. A 71.73% stake was nationalized and is now in the process of being sold," adds the same newspaper.
The economic publication of the Cofina Group also says that Isabel dos Santos, as well as the other former owners and respective creditors of shares of the company nationalized in July, have already been notified that a compensatory evaluation is being carried out.
In addition, neither Novo Banco, nor BCP, nor Caixa Geral de Depósitos with execution actions on Winterfell 2, Isabel dos Santos' Malta-based company that held the position in Efacec and was the target of nationalization, will be compensated for the fact that the value was considered negative in the two valuations carried out," concludes Negócios.
The notification of the negative value can still be contested by the parties, which can lengthen the process.
