The Administração Regional de Águas do Norte in Cabo Delgado (ARA-Norte) expects hydrometric levels to rise in the next few hours in all of the province's river basins..
The director of ARA-Norte, Micas Bulo, told Rádio Moçambique that due to the rainfall upstream, the levels of the Megaruma and Montepuez river basins, as well as those along the coastline, are currently rising.
"Hydrometric levels are expected to rise in almost all the basins in the next few hours due to the expected rainfall. At the moment, the situation is stable, we don't have any very alarming situations," he said.
ARA-Norte reiterates its appeal to riverside communities and society in general to avoid crossing riverbeds during this phase of increased rainfall levels.
