Russian government supports victims of terrorism in Cabo Delgado

The government of Russia has approved the disbursement of an additional $2 million in humanitarian aid to Mozambique, with a focus on victims of the terrorist attacks in Cabo Delgado.

According to the Russian ambassador in Maputo, Alexander Surikov, in his year-end statement on Thursday, the aid will be channeled through the World Food Program (WFP) as a contribution to that body's projects in Mozambique.

Alexander Surikov, added that Russia hopes that the support will help solve existing problems in terms of food insecurity and hunger in Mozambique.
