Government promises to transform more than 200 elementary school into secondary schools next year

Governo promete transformar mais de 200 escolas primárias em secundárias no próximo ano

The government, through the Ministry of Education and Human Development (MINEHD), revealed that it will transform 235 primary schools into secondary schools, to address the deficit of this level of education in the country.

According to the national director of School Infrastructure and Equipment, José Colete, the Education sector is surveying the number of schools with requirements for its transformation.

"Primary schools will be transformed and upgraded, as a way to overcome the deficit of secondary schools in the country," said José Colete.

For now, the source said that the Ministry of Education will count on the support of partners to realize the plan, which is planned for 2022.
