The Prime Minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, said on Wednesday morning in Maputo that the Government intends to maximize the great potential that the maritime area of our country has in terms of fishing resources, development of port services, tourism and sports, among others, through the Blue Economy Development Fund (ProAzul).
The PM expressed his wish at the swearing in ceremony of Simeão Lopes as President of the Board of Directors of ProAzul.
"With this financial mechanism, we want to ensure the sustainable exploitation of inland waters, sea and coastline, as well as the conservation of marine ecosystems, for the benefit of the population and consequently the socio-economic development of our country," he said.
Do Rosário challenged the incumbent to prioritize the design of financial mechanisms and studies of new sources of resources to finance blue economy development projects, which also contribute to the generation of more jobs and income for the Mozambican population.
