Governo lamenta morte de Arão Litsure

The government, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, mourns the death of the musician, writer and former president of the National Electoral Commission, Arão Litsure.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, to which MZNews has had access, the government says that Arão Litsure was a man with established credits in the national musical arena and who served Mozambican culture from an early age with unquestionable talent.

"We will never get used to the departure of people who make a difference and who have made their contribution to enriching the artistic and cultural heritage of a people," the statement said.

"This is the case of Aaron Litsure, a man who embraced music as well as literature, showing his versatility as well as his theological knowledge which extended his social service to a vast field," the document adds.

The document concludes with heartfelt condolences to the family of the multifaceted Litsure, as well as to those who work in the arts.

"We will remember his contribution to the arts and we will continue to sing 'Malangavi Ya Ndzilo' to keep his flame always burning," reads the statement signed by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Eldevina Materula.

Arão Litsuri died of an illness in the early hours of Sunday morning (14.04) after spending a week in hospital in South Africa.
