The government assures that teachers and health sector staff are already receiving the first tranche of the allowances to which they are entitled, resulting from the accumulation of debts in recent years.
According to government spokesman Inocêncio Impissa, despite having started with the payments, the process is facing some constraints caused by local managers who are not acting in accordance with the Executive's expectations, and there is therefore a need to clarify certain aspects.
The government's statement comes just a few days after health workers threatened to go on strike at the end of the month, demanding, among other things, the payment of overtime.
"The payment of overtime has already begun and there is work being done, which is a little more complex, because we realize that in the process, managers in some parts of the country are not doing it according to the government's expectations," said Impissa on Tuesday (11), at the end of the seventh ordinary session of the Council of Ministers.
Quoted by NewsInocêncio Impissa explained that there is a need to continue talking to the managers, who actually distribute the money to teachers, health staff and employees in general, about how the payment should be made.
"Because we are paying in stages, it is expected that payment will be made in proportion to what each person is entitled to. This is the mechanism being adopted," he said.
Impissa, who is also the Minister for State Administration and the Civil Service, reiterated the fact that, on some points, there were issues to be improved in order to allow everyone, even in the form of a sign, to understand that overtime is being paid.
With regard to the debt with state suppliers, Impissa said that the settlement of the account began last week under the terms announced, namely the phased settlement.
"Suppliers are already being paid and others are being contacted from the provinces for the process, because contracting is done at local level," he said.
