Government and cooperation partners seek solutions to drinking water problem in Mueda district, Cabo Delgado province.
To this end, Mozambique and India signed, this Monday in Maputo, a memorandum for the Implementation of the Drinking Water Supply Project in Cabo Delgado.
Cited by Radio Mozambique, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, emphasized, after signing the instrument, the importance of the project for the inhabitants of the Mueda plateau.
The Government of Mozambique, in the present cycle of governance, has defined, in its Five Year Plan 2020-2024, as one of the priorities, the increase in the coverage of water supply services to urban and peri-urban populations.
Verónica Macamo says that the support provided by the Indian government symbolizes the good relations of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries.
For his part, the Indian High Commissioner in Mozambique, Ankan Banerjee, made a commitment that his government will continue to support the development projects in our country.
"We hope that the project will be finished in the planned time, because only then will the population of Mueda be able to benefit from this drinking water immediately" - said Ankan Banerjee.
