The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, considers that the existence of development corridors with their respective infrastructures, as well as the ease of insertion of Mozambique into the vast market of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), mean that our country remains attractive to both foreign and domestic investors.
This conviction of the Head of State was expressed on Friday, in the Beluluane Industrial Park, in Maputo province, at the inauguration of a factory unit called "Beleza Moçambique".
The inaugurated factory represents an investment of about 12.5 million dollars made by the Indian multinational company Godrej, dedicated to the production of synthetic hair, locks, crochet, weaves, and wigs.
On the occasion, President Filipe Nyusi said that this is a business initiative that is in line with the Industrialize Mozambique Program, which has as one of its pillars the materialization of projects that allow import substitution and the promotion of export competitiveness in the country.
"This is an investment that demonstrates the confidence and conditions existing in the country to attract businessmen, and one of the immediate impacts of this plant is the creation of nearly three thousand jobs, 80% of which are occupied by women, among them heads of households," he said.
The Head of State challenged the company managers to be competitive in the internal and external markets, through customer loyalty, following the fashion trend to innovate.
"The challenge of this factory is now to increase production, trying to keep up with the demographic dynamics caused by population growth. We intend, now, to see few of our sisters traveling to India, China, Brazil to go buy hair," stressed the Head of State.
