Government confident of gradual economic recovery this year

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, expressed confidence last week in the gradual recovery of the economy during the current year. Contributing to this optimism are, among other things, the implementation of several programs with the potential to revitalize the economy, including SUSTENTA - in the area of Agriculture, "Lighting Mozambique" and "Water for Life"..

The President of the Republic's conviction was expressed at a virtual meeting on Financing Mechanisms for African Economies, an event co-organized by the World Bank, through the International Development Association (IDA), and by the Republic of Ivory Coast, which also brought together the statesmen of Kenya, Rwanda, Togo, Benin, Madagascar, and Senegal, among other heads of state and government,

On the occasion, Filipe Nyusi recalled that, similarly to what happens in other African countries, in recent years Mozambique had been registering a remarkable economic growth, as a result of political and economic reforms that allowed greater national and foreign private investment.
