Karingani Game Reserve recently paid a visit to the Massingir district, in the southern province of Gaza. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the new investors in the Karingani Project and the new national management team.
The meeting was a step towards fostering closer relations with the government authorities as well as providing updates to the authorities on the stage of implementation of the tourism development project, the management of the reserve and community development initiatives and relations with the communities.
Karingani's CEO, Paul Milton, shared some of the firm's investments on the occasion, highlighting the concept of high standard tourism that the group has established in countries where it invests on the African continent, characterized by excellence that combines community development and wildlife conservation with economic development (including job creation).
He referred to the training program that is currently being funded for 23 young scholarship holders selected from the districts of Magude and Massingir, who are undergoing one year of world-class professional training in Cape Town, South Africa, in the areas of hospitality and wildlife tracking.
He also elaborated on the major investment made by the company, budgeted at just over 7 million dollars, aimed at enabling the construction of a 5-star hotel and infrastructures to support the operation of the Reserve.
For her part, the district administrator, Esmeralda Mutemba, expressed her satisfaction at being one of the witnesses to the various projects that will be implemented. She shared that she had the opportunity to visit the opening of the waterholes and the initial deposit of pipes to channel water to the reserve, as well as the erection of the power poles.
