Editorial Fundza will launch the books "O amor que há em ti", by Larsan Mendes, and "A rapariga sem reflexo", by Clévia Guivala, at 6pm on November 29 at the Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo.
O amor que há em ti, by Larsan Mendes, is a novel whose story revolves around the Mabungo family. In this fiction of love and mistrust, the reader is invited to embark on an unpredictable journey and question the essence of things, through the eyes of the characters. In the plot, love is sustained by Ana Maria and Mateus. It is they who transform moments of chaos into hope, in a connection of events between the romantic and the surprising.
The first version of O amor que há em ti was written in 2018 and, in 2019, the book received an honorable mention in the INCM/Eugénio Lisboa Literary Prize in Portugal. The approximately 350-page book is an attempt by the author to get her readers to learn about something they can apply in life while having fun reading.
Clévia Guivala's The Girl with No Reflection is a motivational story in which the author aims to inspire girls in particular. The story's protagonist, Lupi, is a determined, dreamy and focused young woman. However, when she falls in love with the man she thinks is the man of her life, she starts to act out of emotion rather than the reason that has always characterized her.
With this story, Clévia Guivala wants to show what kind of consequences can result from reckless decision-making. The idea has always been to tell a story and, from there, to release realistic lessons. So, in this 130-page book, Clévia Guivala feels she is paving the way for all those who, like her, dream of one day publishing a literary work.
O amor que há em ti and A rapariga sem reflexo are books selected in Editorial Fundza's first literary call, which allowed both authors to make their book debuts.
At Camões, the book by Larsan Mendes will be presented by journalist Yana de Almeida. Clévia Guivala's book will be presented by journalist Jeremias Langa.
