Galp Foundation renews support to Helpo and Makobo

Galp and Fundação Galp have recently signed two memoranda with the Helpo organization and the Makobo platform to guarantee access to school education and support to displaced persons in Cabo Delgado, as part of their social responsibilities.

The protocol with the non-governmental organization Helpo concerns the renewal of financial support for the "Educate for the Future" initiative, for another three years. Helpo has been carrying out solidarity activities since 2019, promoting the education of children and young people in Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

Galp also updated, for another year, its commitment to Plataforma Makobo, the Mozambican solidarity association responsible for the "Missão Coração Solidário Cabo Delgado" project centered in Pemba.

The agreements represent renewed support from Portuguese institutions for the socio-economic development of Mozambique, according to Galp's CEO, Andy Brown.

The signing ceremony took place at the Portuguese Cultural Center, in Maputo, on November 23rd, and was attended by the CEO of Galp, Andy Brown, the National Coordinator of Helpo, Carlos Almeida, and the Founder of Plataforma Makobo, Ruy Santos.

The signing of the protocols was witnessed by the Portuguese Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Francisco André, and by the Portuguese Ambassador in Mozambique, António Costa Moura.

According to Galp's CEO, this performance embodies the Company's commitment to contribute to the inclusive socio-economic development of Mozambique, where Galp has operated for 64 years.
