FIFA blocks Maxaquene for a debt exceeding 2 million dollars

FIFA bloqueia Maxaquene por uma dívida superior a 2 milhões de dólares

The International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA) has prevented the Maxaquene Sports Club from registering professional players in the FIFA Connect system, due to a debt of more than two million dollars.

According to the president of the club's Management Committee, Maxaquene "did not meet some requirements recommended by FIFA, so this year it cannot compete at the professional level. FIFA has seized our license and we can only get rid of this situation by settling the debt," he said.

Thus, the tricolor club from the nation's capital will only be able to compete in amateur and youth divisions.

Maxaquene owes players, coaches, and workers who have not received salaries for almost three years. The club also has debts contracted with service companies, hotels. The tricolor management does not channel money to the social security system, according to Domingos Langa,

For Domingos Langa, Maxaquene's liabilities increased rampantly during the cast of Arlindo Mapande (2018-2019), because he had no support from the integrating companies after he was elected, having resorted to debt service, at a time when the club was competing in Moçambola.

Even if Maxaquene moves up a division, as long as it does not regularize its debt situation it will not be able to compete in Moçambola.

It should be noted that the "tricolores" have been unable to elect a Board for nearly three years after the one led by Arlindo Mapande "slammed the door" leaving the club adrift.
