The president of Mozambican Football Federation (FMF), Feizal Sidat, was elected to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) during the 14th Extraordinary General Assembly, held in Cairo, Egypt, on March 12, 2025.
With 45 votes out of a total of 53, this election represents a historic milestone for Mozambique, guaranteeing the country a significant presence in the decision-making bodies of African soccer.
For the first time since national independence, a Mozambican occupies a high-level position on CAF's executive body. Feizal Sidat's presence strengthens Mozambique's position on the continental soccer scene and boosts the development of the COSAFA region.

Meanwhile, at the same ceremony, Patrice Motsepe was re-elected president of CAF, and will thus be in charge of African soccer for the next four years.
