Fancy Summer: the first fashion party to explore summer in Maputo

Fancy Summer: a primeira festa da moda que explora o verão em Maputo

If there is one event that brings together the best of Mozambican fashion and the high temperatures of summer, it is undoubtedly Fancy Summer, an opportunity for designers and brands to showcase the best of this season.

This year's event will take place on February 24 at 3pm on the beach in front of the South Beach restaurant in Maputo.

It is the biggest summer party with a fashion show that returns with more than 20 designers, wanting to explore 'beautiful summer stories that everyone certainly has to tell'; and it is suggested that 'the soul is set free on a journey full of colors and flavors, leaving remarkable moments', not least because 'it is in fashion that we express so many feelings, desires and vision'.

The Fancy Summer catwalk is looking forward to welcoming national and international models showing off summer collections from designers and brands such as Flanco, FC Ateliê de Moda, Mimi Croché, Neyma Wander, Lily Sitoe, Loyal Chiss, Jerry Pholo, A.N.A Tajú/Percy-Crochet, Kushona Designer, Anifa Cossa, Hazra, Chochê da Sophia, BTB, Pretu, Ndjinja, Xaiza, Zangado Matsinhe, Agostinho Francês, Chellier Clothes, Hezra Gove, among others.

In addition to the fashion shows, the afternoon will be livened up by music from Mozambican artists Kapa Noxe and Kátia Vanessa, and various national and international DJs such as Delux, Clayton Zimia, CM10 (South Africa) and Trend Twins (eSwatini) who will make this fashion event a real summer party.

Fancy Summer is the first fashion event to take place in a given year, a project of the KLD Agency, also the organizer of Fancy Africa Fashion Week, the big fashion week that takes place in September. Last year, marking the 7th edition of the event, Fancy Africa was dedicated to sustainability and technology with masterclass moments and fashion shows, between emerging and established designers, with different generational fashion shows that gave designers the opportunity to showcase their new collections.
