Facebook and Google have teamed up to circumvent the privacy policies that Apple has implemented in Safafri in order to offer greater privacy to their respective users.
The indictment is filed by 12 prosecutors and dates back to 2020.
"The companies have worked together to improve Facebook's ability to recognize users who use cookies-blocked browsers, on Apple devices and in Apple's Safari browser," the complaint by the prosecutors, cited by Busnessinsider, states.
The hard reality for Zuckerberg is that Apple's privacy tools have made it harder for other tech companies to track users for their ad auction model.
Google and Facebook are accused of engaging in an illegal advertising deal. In the case, Google boosted its monopoly power over its adtech business by helping Facebook make the best bids in ad auctions. This would make it easier for Facebook content to appear in more Google Ads.
