The oil company Exxon Mobil and the National Hydrocarbon Company (ENH) announced that they will provide 50 bicycles to the Changalane Women's Association, in the south of the country, in order to respond to the difficulties they face in their agricultural activity.
According to the statement from the two companies, the donation aims to reduce poverty through low-cost and highly efficient personal transportation, helping farmers in the production of horticultural crops, as well as improving the irrigation system.
This action is accompanied by ADPP in partnership with Mozambikes, a Mozambican company that adapts bicycles.
"Women's empowerment and agriculture are key pillars of Exxon Mobil's social responsibility globally," Jos Evens, general manager of Exxon Mobil in Mozambique said in a statement.
In a similar initiative in July, in partnership with ADPP and Mozambique Renewables, Exxon Mobil donated 30 improved stoves, with less wood consumption, solar panels and lighting
