Businesspeople are pleased with the resumption of passenger and freight traffic on the Sena Line

The business sector is pleased to see the resumption of passenger and freight trains as of December 1st on the Sena Line.

The circulation of passenger and freight trains on this line was interrupted almost two years ago due to the pandemic.

During the stoppage, the economic agents in Sofala began to use cars to transport goods, spending twice as much as they paid for rail transport.

"Renting a cargo truck from the city of Beira to the district of Caia costs 75,000 meticais, compared to 30,000 for renting a carriage," revealed the president of the business council of Sofala province, Ricardo Conhaque, stressing that "the situation stifles the small and medium enterprises that operate along the Beira Corridor."
