A citizen is being held to account by the Police of the Republic of Mozambique, in the city of Xai-xai, in Gaza, accused of swindling Mozambican and Angolan singers, using the false qualities of an event promoter.

The 29-year-old fake event promoter, according to Radio MozambiqueHe was arrested at the end of last week and, in order to achieve his objectives, he "held a false certificate as an events promoter". He charged money for alleged shows in Maputo and Matola.

In addition to these scams, the same citizen made false promises of employment to people for money.

"In the city of Xai-xai he swindled two people. In Maputo he also swindled two people, one from the city of Maputo and the other living in the Patrice Lumumba neighborhood. But it was through the owner of a restaurant located in the Patrice Lumumba neighborhood that the police became aware of this incident," said Carmínea Leite, PRM spokesperson in Maputo province.

She also said that from the investigations carried out, there were strong suspicions that the 29-year-old had swindled more people.

This weekend, the PRM recovered a three-year-old girl who was reported missing last week in the district of Namaacha. The police say they are working to ascertain the circumstances of the disappearance of the child "who is now with her family".

In the Machava neighborhood, a woman caught with 16 balls of surruma (cannabis sativa) was also taken to the cells.
