The President of the Confederation of Mozambique Economic Associations (CTA), Agostinho Vuma, revealed this week that about 100 beneficiaries of the Demobilization, Disarmament and Reintegration (DDR) process will be integrated into private security companies.
The initiative comes under the mechanisms for private sector participation in the economic and social reintegration of the demobilized in the context of the implementation of the Maputo Peace and National Reconciliation Agreement, signed in 2019 by the President of the Republic of Mozambique and the Renamo Leader.
"The agreement is the result of work that CTA has been carrying out as part of its collaboration with the UN to assist in the implementation of this process," reads the document released by CTA.
To this end, the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for Mozambique, Mirko Manzoni, recently met with CTA President Agostinho Vuma, a meeting that also served to take stock of the dialogue mechanisms between the Mozambican Private Sector and the various segments of society.
