CS da ONU: Moçambique pede cessar-fogo imediato na Faixa de Gaza

The situation in the Gaza Strip is catastrophic and Mozambique has called for compliance with the immediate ceasefire approved yesterday by the UN Security Council.

The body adopted a resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan, the holy month for Muslims.

In total, there were 14 votes in favor, including from Mozambique, and one abstention from the United States of America.

The draft resolution was presented by Mozambique's ambassador to the United Nations, Pedro Comissário, on behalf of the body's 10 elected member states.

The resolution presented by Mozambique at the Security Council also demands the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, as well as the guarantee of humanitarian access to meet their medical and other needs. (RM)
