Mozambique Red Cross builds 100 houses for the needy in Sofala

The president of the Red Cross district committee in Búzi, Salma Ismael, revealed this Wednesday, that the institution she represents has started the construction of 100 houses for the needy people, victims of natural disasters, who live in resettlement areas in the province of Sofala.

"These are Type 1 houses that are being built out of conventional material and are resilient to climate change," she said.

Salma Ismael, explained that the construction of the houses is part of a recovery project for the victims of the storms valued at about 250 thousand meticais.

At this moment, as assured by the President of the Red Cross District Commission, four of the one hundred houses are already ready and delivered to the beneficiaries, who are mostly child heads of household, widowed women and elderly.
