The Portuguese embassy in Mozambique assured, on Friday, in the capital of the country, that more repatriation flights will take place, from the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, to Maputo, on the next 08th, and Maputo-Lisbon, on the 09th and 11th.
"Subsequently, additional [TAP-operated] flights of this nature will be arranged according to need," the embassy said.
Recently the embassy announced a Lisbon-Maputo-Lisbon flight arriving this Saturday in Maputo, returning to Lisbon today. And another flight between Lisbon and Maputo scheduled for Sunday, returning to Mozambique on Monday, due to fly to Portugal the same day. The flights serve to support the return in both directions.
The Maputo-Lisbon flight is open to Portuguese passengers, holders of a residence permit in Portugal and nationals of the EU, states associated to the Schengen area and members of their families.
Third country nationals legally residing in an EU member state, in transit to their country of origin or legal residence, and others in humanitarian situations may also board.
The reservation should be made directly with TAP, but the consulate general of Portugal in Maputo as well as the consulate general in Beira are available for contacts for those who have "difficulty in making their reservation.
On flights to Lisbon, all passengers, vaccinated or not, will have to show a negative RT-PCR or similar nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) result.
"The test must be performed no later than 72 hours prior to departure," and as an alternative, passengers can take "an antigen test (TRAg) no later than 48 hours prior to departure."
On the Lisbon-Maputo route, all passengers over the age of 11 must present proof of a negative PCR test performed within 72 hours prior to departure.
