State General Account 2020 generates controversy on the parliamentary benches

The parliamentary benches disagree on whether the basic principles of public accounting should be respected in the State General Account for the 2020 fiscal year. The lack of clarity is the main point that causes controversy among the members of the three parliamentary benches.

Debated this week in Parliament, the members of the Frelimo parliamentary group believe that the General State Account is expressive, didactic and respects the principles of public accounting. However, for the Speaker of the Renano parliamentary group the account presents inaccuracies.

For the Spokesperson of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) he believes that the document shows that there are deviations of public resources.

Even so, at the end of this parliamentary session, Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, reiterated that the government will continue to improve the mechanisms for auditing public funds.
