Maputo City Council needs 180 million meticals to operationalize the contingency plan for the current rainy season.

The amount will be used to assist in the third and worst case scenario, 21,000 people, and also to cover all activities linked to the contingency plan.

The amount of money available for the needs has not been advanced, but the edicity is working to cover the missing money.

This information was provided by the Director of the Municipal Social Action Service, who did not advance the amount available, but assured that the city will work to cover the missing amount.

Gilda Florentina said the Municipal Council of Maputo is registering a reduction in the collection of its own revenues, which makes it difficult to cover all the costs of the contingency plan by itself.
