Starting next week, the Health Sector in Niassa province will distribute just over a million mosquito nets impregnated with insecticide, as part of the fight against malaria.
In the first phase, according to RM, the mosquito net distribution campaign will take place in nine districts, namely Lago, Sanga, Muembe, Mavago, Majune, Mecula, Marrupa, Chimbonila and Ngaúma, and the second in the remaining six districts.
According to the Provincial Director of Health in Niassa, Ramos Mboa, the mosquito nets will benefit more than one million six hundred thousand inhabitants, of the approximately two million who live in the province.
The source said that the intervention is intended to reduce malaria cases, which have claimed forty-four lives since January.
