Women entrepreneurs, students and young people with innovative ideas in the areas of agro-food, health, waste, natural beauty products or nutrition will be trained in February, in Maputo City, in bio-entrepreneurship.
According to Notícias, the initiative is carried out by the National Center for Biotechnology and Biosciences (CNBB), an institution under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education (MCTES).
The training aims to foster female entrepreneurship and the creation of biotechnology-based companies as well as to contribute to the development of knowledge, skills, favorable policies, institutional and governmental involvement of the beneficiaries.
The training is expected to provide visibility and opportunities in the bioscience fields for young people and students, as well as equipping women-led businesses with technical skills in order to develop investment projects.
For the CNBB, the lack of women scientists and technicians in the different areas represents a great untapped potential for the national economy and future employment needs.
The submission of applications to participate in the training, which will take place in Maputo city, is already open.
In the meantime, those interested should submit their innovative projects or research to the CNBB. The seminar will be supported by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
