Eleven days after the start of the census of artisanal miners in the country, Gaza Province, has already reached 70% of the projected target, estimated at 122 foci to be surveyed.
The information was advanced on Friday by the President of the National Institute of Statistics, after visiting some of the districts where the census is being carried out as part of the supervision of the process in the province.
With the data achieved so far, Mónica Magaua, is satisfied with the course of the census of artisanal miners and believes in reaching one hundred percent of the projected goal for this census, which ends next September.
According to Mónica Magua, contributing to the success of this census of artisanal miners is the preliminary work done in the communities where the process is taking place, which translates into a satisfactory response from all those involved.
And the director general of the National Mining Institute, Adriano Silvestre, justifies the satisfactory results that the census of artisanal miners is allocating, with the work that the ministry of mineral resources and energy has been doing with these with a view to improving their activities.
The census of artisanal miners, which in a first phase is taking place in the provinces of the southern region of the country and Nampula, aims to collect information in order to develop policies and regularize the practice of this activity in the country.
