Camões – Centro Cultural Português em Maputo

On April 26, at 6 p.m., Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo and Galeria Arte d'Gema will present a group exhibition of contemporary art, "Passos Pela Vida" (Steps for Life), whose main objective is to sell works at special prices and raise funds for Mozambican artist Lizette Chirrime, who is suffering from a serious health problem.

The Camões-Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo and the Arte d'Gema Gallery have teamed up with a group of thirty Mozambican artists who have offered to donate works for this exhibition, with the aim of helping a colleague and reference in the artistic community in Mozambique.

Among the artists associated with this cause are works by: Butcheca, Celestino Mudaulane, Ciro, Datinho, Dito Tembe, Famós, Gemuce, Gonçalo Mabunda, Ídasse, João Donato, Jorge Dias, Júlio Dengucho, Lizette Chirrime, Luís Cardoso, Luís Santos, Luís Sozinho, Mapfara, Mariano Silva, Mateus Sithole, Mauro Pinto, Moisés Sambo, Mulalene, Pedro Mourana, Pekiwa, Samuel Djive, Saranga, Sérgio Simione, Simone Simbine, Thandi Pinto, Tsenani and Ulisses.

The exhibition will be open from its inauguration on April 26 until May 20, from Monday to Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., at the Camões - CCP Maputo gallery.

During this period, everyone is invited to visit this exhibition of contemporary Mozambican art and, as far as they are able, to contribute to the fundraising that will help minimize the artist Lizette Chirrime's health problems.
