Two more national citizens were recently sentenced to 30 years in prison by the Judicial Court of Maputo Province for crimes of poaching, criminal association and illegal possession of a firearm.

According to "Notícias" the defendants were arrested on September 26 of last year in flagrante delicto in possession of a firearm and ammunition of caliber 404, when they entered a wilderness farm with the aim of slaughtering rhinos for the extraction of horns for commercial purposes.

The individuals, who are from and residents of Massingir, Gaza province, were arrested before they slaughtered any kind of animal, thanks to the quick intervention of the inspectors.
