Buffalo and hyenas causing panic in the communities of the Sabiè administrative post, in the Moamba district, Maputo province.

According to the head of the Sabiè administrative post, the phenomenon has been going on intensely since last March, with buffalo devastating people's fields and hyenas climbing into corrals in the dead of night to kill cattle.

"Last week a buffalo was slaughtered after injuring the occupants of a light vehicle driving through the communities. The wild animals come from the farms that surround the post," said Helena Chivite, quoted by Rádio Moçambique.

The source also announced that last weekend, a group of hyenas invaded a corral in the Mahunguana community, where they killed goats and sheep.
