UBA Bank presents sustainable solutions for the development of African economies

Banco UBA apresenta soluções sustentáveis para o desenvolvimento das economias africanas

Last week, during the 79th United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York, the United Bank for Africa (UBA) presented sustainable solutions for the development of African economies, noting that the institution has been one of the main drivers of leverage in Africa.

At a meeting where it was represented at the highest level by its Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA), Tony Elumelu and Managing Director, Oliver Alawuba, the bank shared its vision of offering affordable financial solutions, investing in financial education initiatives and corporate social responsibility programs that positively impact local communities, as well as noting that one of the biggest challenges facing African economies is the lack of adequate infrastructure.

According to those responsible, the UBA has played a crucial role in financing infrastructure projects covering sectors such as energy, transportation and telecommunications. As a result, "these initiatives not only improve the quality of life of the local population, but also lay the foundations for long-term economic growth".

In a statement, the bank also highlighted its commitment to diversity and inclusion, through its gender equality policy which actively promotes female empowerment, both within its organizational structure and in the communities in which it operates.

"This is particularly relevant on a continent where women face significant challenges in accessing the labor market and entrepreneurship. In conclusion, the United Bank for Africa is more than just a bank, it is a transformative agent of African economic development," quotes the statement from UBA Mozambique, stressing that as the institution continues to expand its operations, the bank is helping to build a more prosperous and sustainable future for the African continent.

With operations in more than 20 African countries and a global presence in cities such as London, Paris, New York and Dubai, UBA is a symbol of the growing influence of African financial institutions on the international stage.
