The World Bank will finance the construction of a water distribution center in the city of Beira, Sofala province, with about 18.2 million dollars, next year.
The project will bring together a reservoir, a pressure tower, a convenience store, water pre-treatment center, and a pump station to be implemented.
The project will be in charge of FIPAG (Water Supply Investment and Assets Fund).
According to the FIPAG director in Beira, Cremilda Sitole, through this investment, "we expect to improve the water supply in the provincial capital of Sofala and in the city of Dondo, with direct impact on the lives of about 89,000 people.
She said that in September the first water supply tests were conducted from the Munhava distribution tower, which is currently being rehabilitated.
