The World Bank (WB) is available to support the implementation of the Phanda Nkuwa Hydropower Project, to be built in Marara district, Tete province, including the associated current transportation infrastructure, said an official source from the institution.

The interest in this sense was expressed yesterday, in Maputo, by Zayra Romo, Infrastructure Program leader at the WB, during the conference that culminated with the selection of strategic investors for the project's development.

The source, quoted by "Notícias" said, however, that his institution is still waiting for a formal request from the Mozambican government so that, within the bank's internal structure, the project can be analyzed and a decision taken according to the amounts involved.
