Mozambican artist Fauziya Fliege opened an art exhibition this Sunday (14). It's called 'Africa in your eyes' and it's on show at the Municipal Museum of Cartago, in Costa Rica.

This exhibition seeks to convey the essence and diversity of African culture through a variety of works that capture unique images and emotions.

In this exhibition, says the artist, "you will be able to appreciate the beauty and richness of my homeland, of my continent. Some of the works depict houses in neighborhoods built with clay and straw, places of peace and beauty where agriculture is a fundamental part of daily life." She adds that, in addition, "there are works that show women at work, highlighting their importance and contribution to life."

They are works created using impressionist and abstract figurative techniques, clearly inspired by Van Gogh's masterpiece, 'Wheatfield with Cypresses', from 1889.

This choice, justifies the artist, is due to the incredible technique and vibrant colors used by Van Gogh, which perfectly reflect the vitality and energy of Africa.

'Africa in your eyes - a continent of beauty and charm', translated from Spanish, will run until June 16.

Remember that the exhibition 'Art, culture and African flavor' is still on until May 31 at the Guanacaste Museum in the city of Liberia, Costa Rica - an exhibition that also exalts the beauty and vibrancy of African art and culture through a collection of abstract paintings that offer a colorful glimpse.

Another solo exhibition is also taking place at the German Embassy in that country, this one called 'The African Jungle in Your Heart', which highlights the lush and wild nature of Africa.

In May, three group exhibitions are scheduled, this time in Italy. One exhibition will take place in Rome, on the 8th, at the Italo-Latin American Institute, in partnership with the Costa Rican Embassy in Italy; the other will take place at the Asís Gallery, on the 10th; and, to close, on the 18th, it will be at the Museo Diocesano e Capilorare di Terni.
