Payment of severance payments to workers of the former Post Office of Mozambique begins this month

Begins this month, the payment of compensation to 556 workers of the extinct company Correios de Moçambique, in the scope of its liquidation.

A document from the Institute for the Management of State Holdings (IGEPE), quoted by Radio Mozambique, states that this Tuesday, the pre-notices of termination of the employment contract were distributed to the workers, at a national level.

The payment of compensation amounting to 383 million meticais will take place in three stages, and should end in November of this year.

According to the document, one hundred properties of the extinct Post Office of Mozambique will be destined to public institutions and eighty-seven will be sold in a public tender for the payment of the Company's liabilities.

The state of play of the liquidation of the defunct company Correios de Moçambique was appreciated, this Tuesday, by the Government, in the Eighteenth ordinary session of the Council of Ministers.
